E2M was recently engaged to provide an ecological assessment as part of a development application for a 60 lot residential subdivision located in Elimbah, Queensland. The objectives of the ecological assessment were to provide an overview of the ecological values on site, identify the potential for impact as a result of the proposed development and provide a mitigation strategy to minimise identified impacts.

E2M provided a quality assured Ecological Assessment Report outlining the scope of works, methods employed, findings of a desktop review and field assessment, ecological impact assessment and mitigation strategy. A series of figures were prepared to accompany the report.

Key considerations included the presence of a wetland mapped as a nature conservation area under the applicable local planning scheme. Following ground-truthing of the site ecological values, recommendations were made towards amending the development layout to ensure a positive outcome for both our client and the environment could be achieved.
