E2M were engaged by Neoen to perform numerous ecological assessments for the preparation of the Kaban Green Power Hub Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
E2M also developed project specific Management Plans including a Vegetation Management Plan, Fauna Management Plan, Bird and Bat Management Plan and an Offset Area Management Plan.As part of Origin Energy’s ongoing commitment to reducing Biosecurity Risk throughout their newly constructed assets, E2M was engaged to undertake weed surveys throughout all transmission pipeline disturbance profiles.
E2M were required to amend the survey effort on several occasions due to changes in the project’s disturbance footprint and updates in Commonwealth and State listed threatened fauna species.
One of the main Management Plans developed for the Kaban Green Power Hub was for the Magnificent Brood Frog. Little is known about this species as not many studies have been conducted on the before. Our surveying techniques and Management Plan was the first for this species of frog.
E2M adapted quickly to the changes in project design and were successful in helping the project gain Commonwealth approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
